About working in Namibia
Namibia’s business activity is concentrated in Windhoek, where government, banks and head offices sit, and on the coast at Walvis Bay and Swakopmund, home to the port, logistics firms and the mining supply chain.
The country is large and thinly populated, with more than 1,400 km of road between Johannesburg and Windhoek. Because of that, most of our Namibian visits are planned as flights with a tool kit and parts prepared in advance, rather than as road trips.
Namibia shares a customs union with South Africa and its dollar is pegged to the rand, which keeps quoting and parts logistics straightforward. English is the official language, so documentation and hand-over notes are in the language you work in.
