Hardware break/fix

Hardware break/fix and parts swaps.

Diagnosis and replacement of failed parts in servers, storage, network equipment and end-user devices, including Dell and other OEM hardware, under your OEM or partner SLA.

What we do

The right part, fitted properly.

When a drive, power supply or system board fails, the fix itself is often quick. The time goes on getting someone qualified to site with the right part and the right instructions. IITECH fills that gap. Our engineers receive the part, attend site, fit it following the manufacturer's procedure, confirm the device is healthy and return the faulty part.

We work on servers, storage arrays, switches, routers, firewalls, laptops and desktops from Dell and other major manufacturers. We can work as a field partner to OEM support organisations and service providers, or directly for companies that keep their own spares.

Being based in Johannesburg puts us close to the data-centre and business hubs where most of this equipment runs. The rest of South Africa is covered by arrangement.

How it works

How a break/fix case runs.

Your case, your procedure, our hands.

  1. Case assigned

You assign the case with part numbers, site details, contact and SLA.

  2. Parts and access

We confirm when the part will arrive and arrange access with the site or tenant.

  3. Swap

The engineer fits the part following the procedure and checks in with your remote engineer before and after.

  4. Close and return

We send the close-out report and ship the defective part back as instructed.

Response times and SLAs. We take cases under the response and resolution targets in your OEM or partner agreement, and agree with you up front what we can meet in each area. Where parts delivery depends on a third party, we say so clearly on the ticket.

FAQ

Questions we get asked.

Something else you need to know? Ask an engineer directly.

Do you work on Dell servers?

Yes. Our engineers work on Dell and other OEM servers, storage and network hardware, following the manufacturer's replacement procedure and the instructions on your case. This describes hands-on experience. It isn't an OEM certification claim.

Who supplies the replacement parts?

Normally the OEM or your organisation ships the part to site or to us. If you need us to source parts, our procurement service can quote.

Can you work under our SLA as a subcontractor?

Yes. We take work as a field partner and work to your SLA, ticket format and customer-facing standards.

What happens to the faulty part?

We package and label it according to your return instructions and record the tracking details on the ticket.

How do you handle drives that contain data?

We follow your policy. For example, we can hand drives to the customer on site or keep them for secure return, depending on what your contract requires.
